Basic knowledge for family caregivers

Welcome to the Pflege ABC. We are pleased that you’re interested in learning more about care at home. In our introductory course, we cover the common questions many families face when a loved one requires care: What steps should be taken when a family member needs care? Where can I find support? And: Who covers the additional expenses? Throughout the course, we will guide you through each important topic and assist you in planning the care of your relative. The course is available in both German and English.

Dr. Johannes Wimmer serves as the moderator, and the content was developed by our expert Thea Regenberg.

"I didn't even know that!

I have come across this sentence many times in my work in inpatient and outpatient care - especially when talking to family caregivers. As a care advisor, I was not only able to give them helpful tips on how to organize their day-to-day care at home, but also valuable information about services and care options."

"After studying medicine, I was able to gain experience all over the world, always on the lookout for what doctors in other countries do better. During my assignments, I also gained an insight into the care systems of other countries and was able to experience how people there look after their fellow human beings when they can no longer manage on their own. I bring this knowledge back to our online courses - as well as the experience that you can learn from other people what really matters in life, in medicine and in care."
